Overview
The current global pandemic of coronavirus (COVID-19) has created many questions on the spread of the virus in closed rooms and the role played by HVAC systems in its transmission. Although many government authorities have provided guidelines on social distancing and preventive measures, the question remains, "Are the currently installed HVAC systems, which are designed to provide thermal comfort, capable of preventing the transmission of the virus?" Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) can provide the solution by providing insights on airflow behavior and contamination travel inside the closed space.
This webinar presents two case studies on how improved HVAC ventilation strategies can reduce the transmission of contaminants in closed spaces. Today, our healthcare workers are on the frontline in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. As they work closely with the infected patients, their safety is of utmost importance! So, we have a case study for you wherein we show the airflow behavior inside a rapid deployment isolation room. Working in office spaces is going to be inevitable when the COVID-19 pandemic ends. While doing so, it will be necessary to ensure that the HVAC system does not spread the contaminants amongst the employees. We bring a case study that will show how the indoor ventilation can be improved using better HVAC systems and solutions such as air purifiers.
This webinar will help the audience to understand the effect of HVAC systems on air distribution in the room, the effectiveness in the removal of contaminants, and maintaining indoor air quality (IAQ).
