Overview
Nozzle check valves, also referred to as Axial-flow valves, play a vital role in preventing reverse flow and minimizing water hammer in critical applications across power plants, oil & gas facilities, and water infrastructure systems. Their axial-flow design allows for quick response and low pressure loss, making them ideal for high-performance flow control under dynamic operating conditions. However, the transient nature of flow reversal and the interaction between spring, disc, and flow dynamics make their design and optimization complex. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations provide deep insight into these flow behaviors, enabling engineers to evaluate valve performance before physical testing. Yet, traditional CFD workflows are often time-consuming, resource-intensive, and require specialized expertise.
Autonomous Valve CFD (AVC) addresses these challenges by providing a cloud-based, autonomous simulation platform that delivers accurate, fast, and easy-to-use CFD results, empowering valve designers to make informed design decisions without needing advanced CFD knowledge. In this webinar, we will explore how the Autonomous Valve CFD app simplifies the analysis of nozzle check valves, from understanding pressure recovery and flow forces to evaluating valve opening dynamics under various operating conditions. Attendees will learn how AVC enables rapid, reliable simulation-driven design—significantly reducing development time and improving product performance.
